Hi friends! I am starting something new on the blog – instead of mentioning my favorite books in my monthly favorites posts, I am going to create separate posts reviewing books I’ve recently read. If you’re a book lover like me, hopefully, this will give you some suggestions for what to read next.

Happy Tuesday, friends! We’re about a week away from Valentine’s Day, so I thought I would share some thoughtful and fun Valentine’s Day gift ideas for anyone in your life.
Have you ever taken the 5 Love Languages quiz? It ranks how you feel most loved based on five categories: words of affirmation, acts of service, receiving gifts, quality time, and physical touch. My number one is always words of affirmation, but I DO love to receive thoughtful gifts from people. It doesn’t have to be extravagant, just something that shows they’ve been paying attention. What about you? Are you big on gifts?
Whether you’re shopping for yourself, your Galentine, or need some ideas to send your significant other, here are my Valentine’s Day picks:
Dress (on sale!) | Shoes (I found these at Marshall’s- they’re an older version of the Kate Spade glitter pumps. These are almost identical.) | Earrings | Lipstick: Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in “Cruella“ | Nail polish: Essie Gel Couture in “Rock the Runway”
Confession: I like Valentine’s Day so much more when I’m single. I think it’s because I don’t have any expectations. There’s no pressure to make the perfect plans or give/get the perfect sentimental gift. In the past, I’ve made the mistake of thinking things should happen a certain way. We should go here and you should KNOW to get me this and you should be really impressed with what I get you and if all of that doesn’t happen as planned then we’re obviously doomed. Sound familiar to you?
